Happy Friday, friends! As an independent author, I’m excited to share updates about my writing journey with you all. This week, I received the first draft of the cover for my upcoming book, “Every Night Has a Dawn,” which will be released in the fall. Seeing my story come to life is an indescribable feeling, and I can’t wait to introduce you to Millie Dawn, a young woman with fire in her veins and determination in her heart, who’s about to take you on a wild ride through history. Get ready to see the world through her eyes as she navigates the struggles of growing up during the Great Depression and coming of age in the thrilling and turbulent 1940s Seattle. Trust me, you won’t be able to get enough of her feisty spirit and unbreakable will!
For those of you who are new to my work, I’m a storyteller at heart, and my trilogy “The Winds of Change” is my pride and joy. It’s a labor of love that’s been inspired by the badass women in my own family. This trilogy takes you on a journey through three generations of Jensen women – each facing their own set of challenges and hardships, indicative to the era they were born in. These ladies prove that even in the toughest of times, you can find hope and happiness if you’ve got grit, resilience, and a bond that can’t be broken. I have a feeling that you won’t be able to put these page-turners down!
The second story follows Dawn’s daughter, Carley, as she navigates the tricky waters of growing up during the transformative eras of the 60s and 70s, before facing the realities of being a young adult in the decadent 1980s. You’ll be swept up in a rollercoaster of first love, heartbreak, and self-discovery, all woven together with universal themes that’ll hit you right in the feels. But that’s not all – Carley also stumbles upon a long-hidden family secret that threatens to shatter everything she thought she knew about herself. Trust me, once you start reading, you be rooting for these women, and they just might start to feel like part of your own family!
At the heart of this series is a relatable message – we’re all on a journey of self-discovery in this everchanging world. My hope is that the Jensen women’s stories will strike a chord with readers, reminding them that they’re not alone in their quest to find their place in the world. Writing this trilogy has been an incredible experience, and I’m beyond grateful for the chance to share these powerful and inspiring stories with all of you.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with me, be sure to check back next week to hear more about the third novel in the ‘Winds of Change’ saga.
Your friend,
Rachel V.
