Friday Wrap Up

Hey there, fabulous readers! It’s Friday, and you know what that means – it’s time for my latest blog post. In this post, I just want to update you on everything that’s been going on since I returned from Washington. I’ve been juggling more balls than a circus clown, but that’s just another day in the life of a modern woman, right? It seems like we all have a lot on our plates these days, and I commend anyone who’s trying to start something new and step outside of their comfort zone. Especially the mothers, sometimes we get so caught up in our families, it can be easy to put ourselves on the back burner. That’s why I’d like to wish each and every one of you an amazing Mother’s Day Weekend.

This week has been intense. I’m starting my final rewrite of my latest manuscript, and I’ve been up to my eyeballs in editing and fine-tuning everything so that this book will be something I can be proud to share with you all. I’m working with an amazing editor and writing coach who has really challenged me to push my writing like I never have before! It’s been a wild ride. I’ve been living and breathing those characters, making sure every detail is perfect for its release on Oct 10th, 2023.

I finalized my book cover this week and I’d like to take a moment to truly appreciate the final product. It’s vibrant, bold, and has a unique energy that captures the essence of my book. The sheer creativity and attention to detail put into it are incredibly inspiring. It reminds me that no matter what your passion is, putting your heart and soul into it will always yield fantastic results. It’s a true inspiration to keep pushing forward with your dreams, even when the going gets tough. If you haven’t seen it, you can visit me over on Instagram @RachelValencourt where I have a book reveal reel for your viewing pleasure.

Speaking of coming out of your comfort zone, I’ve also been hustling hard to build up my social media presence. As an introvert, it’s not easy putting myself out there in such a public way, but I’m determined to connect with my readers and build a community around my writing. You can find me on all the usual sites…Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. If you decide to follow me, make sure to drop into my DMs and let me know you came over from this blog post. As my community grows, it’s getting easier to put myself out there, and I’ve made some great new friends in a writers’ group created on Clapper. I’m also working on my branding, trying to strike the perfect balance between informative and entertaining. It’s like playing Jenga with words, but I’m confident I’ll get it right in the end.

As if all of that wasn’t enough to keep me busy, I’m also teaching my daughter to drive! She’s in driver’s training, and I’m not sure who’s more nervous, her or me! On weekends, you can find me cheering on my youngest at Volleyball. She is gearing up for her final volleyball tournament of the season – this girl has more energy than a Duracell battery!

And let’s not forget that I homeschool two days a week. Yeah, you read that right. Homeschooling is like walking a tightrope while juggling flaming torches, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. So, this mom is definitely looking forward to summer so that I can cross teaching off my to-do list for a few months!

As we head towards summer, I’m looking forward to a little less chaos and a lot more fun in the sun. Bring on the lazy days by the pool and the endless BBQs with friends and family.

That’s all for now, friends! Keep being your amazing selves and have a great weekend ahead. Talk to you again soon!

With love,
