New Chapters and Bold Dreams

Hello, dear readers!
It’s me, Rachel Valencourt, back with more twists and turns than a soap opera on fast forward! I wanted to take a moment to reintroduce myself because a lot has happened since my days as the original Fabumom Blogger. Whether you’ve been following my blog since 2010 or you’re a new follower, I want to thank you for coming along for the ride. Your support and enthusiasm mean the world to me as we embark on this exciting new chapter together!
I’m now the author behind the “Winds of Change” trilogy—a series so gripping you’ll need a seatbelt to read it. As I’m busy querying literary agents and production companies, I’ve set my sights on the ultimate dream: turning my books into a series that would make “Yellowstone” look like a quaint little family picnic. Picture this: a multi-generational saga bursting with divine drama, fierce women, and faith-driven resilience. Trust me, you won’t want to miss it!
About the Winds of Change Series
The “Winds of Change” series, grounded in faith and grace, spans over 200 years of history, reflecting the miracles and challenges faced by the women in my family. The series includes two published novels, with the third set for release this fall and a prequel scheduled for spring 2025. I’m delighted to announce that “Every Night Has A Dawn” was a Best Debut Finalist in the American Writing Awards, and “Twilight’s Hidden Truth” reached number one in its category on Amazon.

This series draws on authentic elements from my own life and family, featuring themes such as breaking generational curses, love triangles, found family, coming-of-age, murder, intrigue, soul mates, interracial marriages, the Salem Witch Trials, and secret babies. Each story is infused with a message of hope, resilience, and the enduring power of faith and forgiveness. I am confident this series would make a compelling project for us to collaborate on, showcasing how the Lord’s hand guides and sustains us through every trial and triumph.
Follow the Jensen Family Over Four Generations
Join the captivating and fierce women of the Jensen family as they navigate love, resilience, triumphs, and tragedies across four generations. This series explores how they thrived and carved out their destinies in a world that often sought to limit them, all while leaning on their faith.
Book One: Every Night Has A Dawn
Set against the backdrop of the Great Depression and World War II, this novel introduces Dawn Jensen, a young girl growing up as a migrant farm laborer. Her story is marked by survival, an unexpected friendship on a Native American reservation with a tribe of whale hunters, and a lifelong secret that shapes her future and impacts her future generations. Comparable to “Where the Crawdads Sing,” this tale blends historical drama with profound human resilience and the enduring strength found in faith. “Every Night Has A Dawn” was a finalist for Best Debut in the American Writing Awards.
Book Two: Twilight’s Hidden Truth
Fast forward to the turbulent 1960s and 70s. Twilight, Dawn’s daughter, navigates life in Southern California amid gang violence and social upheaval. With her brother drafted into the Vietnam War and her own challenges of young motherhood and love with a celebrity racer, Twilight’s journey is a cross between “The Outsiders” and “Daisy Jones & The Six.” Her discovery of a long-held family secret propels her into an emotional and transformative journey, all while guided by her faith. “Twilight’s Hidden Truth” has been a number one bestseller in its category on Amazon.
Book Three: Twilight’s Bright Star
Set in the 1980s and 90s, Starla, Twilight’s daughter, emerges as a spirited young woman facing an unexpected family crisis. Her adventurous spirit takes her on a global journey with a charismatic English soccer player. This love story, reminiscent of “Before Sunrise” and Alex Garland’s “The Beach,” tests the resilience of their relationship against a backdrop of mystery and adventure, all while showcasing the sustaining power of faith.
Prequel: Captive Before Dawn
This prequel, inspired by true events involving my third great aunt, tells the story of a woman named Captivity. Her mother was kidnapped by Native Americans, and her husband organized a daring rescue mission to reclaim his family. Their journey began when the family was forced to move due to the Salem Witch Trials. This real-life saga, inspiring James Fenimore Cooper’s “The Last of the Mohicans,” adds depth to the Jensen family saga and showcases the enduring spirit of the women who shaped my lineage, led by divine providence.
Thank you for taking the time to reconnect with me and dive into the world of the Jensen family. Your support is the heartbeat of this journey, and I’m thrilled to share it with you. Together, let’s embark on this adventure filled with faith, resilience, and unforgettable stories.
