Hello September

September has been a whirlwind—a beautiful reminder that even the most far-off dreams can take root and flourish, no matter when or how you start. Recently, my book Twilight’s Hidden Truth was honored with a Literary Titan Book Award for Coming of Age, and it feels surreal to say that out loud. It’s the kind of thing I never would have imagined when I first sat down to write, often squeezing in time between juggling work-from-home life and raising two teenagers. But here we are.

And honestly, I didn’t publish my first book until I was in my mid-40s. That’s right—forty-something, with laundry to fold, meals to prep, and a thousand other things vying for my attention. I know what it’s like to feel the pull of obligations, to think that maybe it’s just “too late” to pursue something for yourself. But let me tell you this: it’s never too late to chase the dream that keeps whispering in the back of your mind.

Finding time for my passion wasn’t easy, and it took a lot of commitment, boundary-setting, and, let’s be honest, late nights and early mornings. But carving out that space for my writing didn’t just make me a better author—it made me a better wife, mother, and friend. When you give yourself permission to follow what sets your heart on fire, you show up for others in a deeper, more fulfilled way. There’s more of you to give because you’re doing something that fills your own cup.

So here’s my encouragement to you: make the time. Carve out that little sliver of your day to pursue whatever dream is tucked away in your heart, even if it feels impossible. Whether it’s writing, painting, starting a business, or anything else that makes you feel alive—make it a priority. It’s not selfish. In fact, it might be one of the best things you can do for yourself and the people you love.

I hope my journey can serve as a little nudge for you to go after yours, even if it feels like the stars have to align perfectly for it to happen. Spoiler: they don’t. You just have to start. It’s messy, chaotic, and absolutely worth it.

Keep dreaming, keep creating, and know that you’re capable of more than you can imagine. Your dreams are waiting for you—go chase them.

Until next time,

Stay fabulous!
