I didn’t finish my first book until I was 45.
Not because I didn’t love writing.
Not because I lacked stories to tell.
But because life was full.
A business to grow.
A family to care for.
And a quiet voice whispering, “There isn’t enough time in the day to chase dreams.”
But somewhere between the self-doubt and the dirty dishes, the stories inside me grew.
And when I finally said yes—when I sat down and typed that last line of Every Night Has a Dawn—something shifted.
I wasn’t just chasing a dream.
I was becoming the woman who believed in herself.
That book?
It became a trilogy.
It won awards.
It became a bestseller.
It reached people I’ll never meet in places I’ll never go.
But more than anything—it reminded me who I am.
A Faith Fuled Journey
Every Night Has a Dawn was the story that broke me open and stitched me back together.
Now, just two years later, I’m working on publishing my fourth novel. Captive Before Dawn.
Becoming isn’t always beautiful or easy.
Sometimes it looks like early mornings and late nights. Tired eyes that want to sleep but a mind that won’t let you stop creating.
Wrestling with self-doubt while Googling how to self-publish. A girl with a dream in her heart and a fire in her soul.
Becoming isn’t about perfection.
It’s about obedience.
Obedience to that small voice inside that says,
“You were made for more.”
Here’s what I’ve learned on this incredible journey:
Starting late doesn’t mean you missed your chance. Dreams don’t expire—they evolve. The story God planted in your heart will bloom when the soil is ready.
And if that soil happens to be 45 years old—or 55, or 65?
So be it.
You’re not behind.
You’re becoming.
If you’re holding onto a dream that feels too big, too far gone, or too late to chase…
This is your reminder:
It is not too late.
And God’s timing is still perfect.
You’re not failing.
You’re becoming.
Now it’s your turn.
What dream are you still holding onto?
